Takaya invented the flying probe test system in 1984 to meet their internal needs as a contract manufacturer for quick turn by providing a fast, east to use, and extremely reliable fixtureless tester. In 1986, Takaya partnered with Itochu Corp. (TEXMAC’s parent company) to share this technology with electronics manufacturers worldwide. Since that time, Takaya has gained a reputation for excellence and established itself as the standard used by virtually all of the major Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers worldwide as well as medical and military/aerospace companies that continue to manufacture their printed circuit boards in house.
Now on its 6th generation of flying probe systems, Takaya has worked with its very large installed base of prestigious customers to gain valuable insight and focus its research and development resources on helping them get to market fast with new products to meet rapidly changing technological requirements and end user needs.
The APT-9411/APT-9600 is the latest generation of Takaya Flying Probe Test Systems that integrates the probe movement and positioning control technology and the measuring techniques that Takaya has accumulated over many years. In these models, Takaya has achieved the highest positioning accuracy, the highest inspection speed and the best test coverage as well as integration of extended AOI functions and many other features, while still maintaining its leadership in providing the highest reliability and lowest cost-of-ownership.
Takaya has an installed base of more than 2,000 systems in major electronic manufacturing plants in over 40 countries. Designed by Takaya with worldwide input and acceptance, choosing the APT-9411/APT-9600 series will provide you with a competitive advantage in the development of your business, as well as help you reduce your operating costs and improve quality levels in a wide range of your SMT products
More than 2,000 sold systems are the evidence of the market leadership of Takaya's Flying Probe Test Systems
Designed to detect manufacturing defects on printed circuit boards, the testers utilize high speed independently moving probes, making it easy to access test points, vias, component pads and fine pitch parts. Since no conventional bed-of-nails (test fixture) is required and the initial test program creation from the CAD file is quick and easy, total development time is measured in hours instead of days.
Fixtureless testers allow for easy inspection of SMT boards and are ideally suited for high board mix prototype applications as well as low and medium volume production runs. With so much to offer, it's no wonder Takaya flying probe testers are used by more Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) than any other flying probe tester in the world.
Back in the mid to late 1980s, the APT-2200, which was the first commercially available Takaya flying probe test system, was used exclusively for prototype applications do to its speed and requirement of pad sizes of at least 300µm. With the introduction of the APT-8300 system in the early 1990s, speed and accuracy improvements allowed the system to move into medium size production. But the real breakthrough came together with the introduction of the APT-8400 in the mid 1990s. With these systems the integration even in fully automatic production line became possible and the Takaya flying probe system found its way into almost every major manufacturing facility.
Thanks to continuous enhancements, the Takaya has developed from the status of a MDA up to a state-of-the-art measurement platform providing the highest flexibility and most robust electrical and mechanical integrity in the various application areas where it is utilized.
