Coater with Single Path Dryer

Single path dryer consists of three types of heating zones:
(1) Preheating, (2) Constant-Rate Drying, (3) Decreased-Rate Dryingzones
Different technique is employed in each zone.

Preheating
(1) Preheating

Airfoil provides gentle heating to avoid poor adhesion and cracking.


Constant-Rate Drying
(2) Constant-Rate Drying

This is where a majority of solvent is evaporated at a constant rate. More heat is applied in this zone.


Decreased-Rate Drying
(3) Decreased-Rate Drying

To remove residual solvent at a decreased rate, floating nozzles are used to heat the web from top and bottom.
