| Arbitrary
permutation and combination of contrast, width, length and area
constitute any types of defects. |
Special
Analyzer
|
| There are some
cases where individual defects are too small to be
significant, but are occurring in some repeating pattern,
which makes them serious. MaxEye.F includes special
functions for these: |

Repeatability
By setting Auto
mode, the system automatically measures the spacing in the
down-web direction between adjacent defects. If the
spacing is the same, it regards these as a repeating
defect. Allowance for gradual drifting of the repeating
defect interval can also be accounted for.
|
Cluster
If more than a set
number of defects are detected in a set area, regardless
of their sizes, the system can classify this group as a
cluster defect.
|
Edge
Crack
Edge cracks may
signify impending serious trouble, especially in paper
mills in the downstream direction. These faults may be
detected separately from other types of defects.
